Not so recent is the discovery that the susceptibility of the consciousness to suggestions, up to the amnesias and to the hypnotic sleep, makes conscience not so reliable in the cure of thinking : any direct intervention, then, to distance consciousness from memory can be said chargeable of damage against a subject, with the resulting costs.
